Founded in 1983, Chicago Gallery News is the central source for information
about the city’s art galleries, museums, events, and resources. CGN aims to be a clear, accessible link to the city's
creative world, as well as an advocate on behalf of Chicago's art community.
Published 3 times a year in January, April and September, both the magazine and website feature up-to-date information about
approximately 150 galleries, including openings, current exhibits and art specialties. We also list scores of art-related
businesses and resources, more than 150 nonprofit arts organizations and institutions, as well as alternative spaces, artist studios, and art centers.
CGN also features an ongoing series of art profiles each issue, highlighting the unique perspectives of Chicago's art dealers, artists, and collectors.
To make in-person visits easier, our gallery listings are arranged geographicly by
district; you may refer to our alphabetical index as well. Other helpful sections
feature opening night receptions; galleries by specialty; currently exhibiting artists;
plus helpful art services, such as auction houses, appraisers, framers, and conservators.
Magazines are available in all listed galleries, art centers, the Chicago Cultural Center, area museums, and at hotel
concierge desks throughout Chicago.

Print magazine subscriptions are: $18/year or $30 for 2 years. Individual copies will be mailed for $6. Larger quantities for groups, classes or tours may be shipped by special order for a fee.
