The weather is finally cooperating, and even though we seem to have skipped over spring, warm weather means get outside whenever you can. This Saturday is the annual Fulton Market Neighborhood Walk, from 12-5. The neighborhood is unique in Chicago, and they're good at banding together for events like this. During the week driving along Fulton can feel like you're playing real life Frogger, dodging the palettes and busy meat packing operations. You can smell the nearby Blommer Chocolate factory too. Saturday offers a little reprieve when things aren't as congested. As far as galleries, there's a great showing: Mars Gallery, E|C, kasia kay gallery, Linda Warren Gallery, Packer Schopf, Ebersmoore. Also, Jupitor Outpost serving great coffee and more, Morlen Sinoway furniture, even Leslie Hindman Auction House, as well as funky boutiques unique to the area.
Peek at all the old warehouses as well as the newer lofts and homes. Stroll the streets, peek in at the newly built, much-buzzed about Next restaurant (corner of Fulton and Morgan, by Ebersmoore gallery).
The afternoon is free, everyone's welcome, there's free street parking, and you'll say you visited a cool down town neighborhood that's always full of fun surprises.
