Primitive, the one-of-a-kind furnishings haven, is hosting a live auction on September 15, consisting of 240 select works of art, objects, and jewelry from the four corners of the world. The auction benefits a worthy, and creative cause: a portion of the proceeds will go to the Creative Arts Program for Children’s Memorial Hospital’s new facility, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, opening in June 2012. The Creative Arts Community is aware of the effects an environment can have on health and healing, and they are partnering with some of Chicago’s most innovative and notable institutions to create a health-promoting environment. Typical ‘corporate art’ is being replaced with art that will engage and entertain children and their families while on the road to healing.
Lots 1-100 will be sold at the live auction at Primitive on September 15, and seating is limited, so RSVP to secure your seat. The highest online bid for each item will be the starting bid at the live auction, and online bidding will end at noon on September 15.
Lots 101-240 are available now at a substantial discount on the website, and they can be purchased until the live auction ends. The works range from gem-stoned jewelry to framed textiles, and just knowing that all of the proceeds benefit children in need creates an even bigger appeal to the auction. Check out the great pieces and either buy online or attend the auction to bid on your favorites.
