NEWS: Contact ArchiTech Gallery about a new book out in June, Alfonso Iannelli - Modern By Design, written by gallery owner David Jameson. Foreword by Tim Samuelson. A corresponding exhibition at the Chicago Cultural Center, Modernism's Messengers: The Art of Alfonso and Margaret Iannelli - 1908 to 1965, is on view May 18-August 17. Iannelli, after working as a sculptor for Frank Lloyd Wright on one of his most important structures, became very famous during the teens, twenties and thirties. After the war, he was forgotten. This story, gleaned from reading his studio files over several years, tells of a Renaissance artist lost in the 20th Century. |
