Created by artists, for artists, Chicago Artists Resource (CAR) is a program of the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events that describes the landscape of opportunity for Chicago artists working in Dance, Literary, Music, Theater and Visual Arts.

Ragdale Foundation
At Ragdale visual artists, writers, composers + interdisciplinary artists find time + space to create important new work.
Throughout the year Ragdale offers readings, artist lectures, workshops, + events designed to connect artists + the community of Lake Forest, Chicago + beyond.
The Ragdale House, designed as the summer home of Arts and Crafts architect Howard Van Doren Shaw, is one of the most complete examples of a turn-of-the-century retreat. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places it recently underwent a $3 million renovation in 2011.
Through a competitive application process, Ragdale offers residencies to visual artists, writers, composers + interdisciplinary artists. Those working in sound, performance, choreography, or combinations of disciplines may apply under the Interdisciplinary category .
