We have been anticipating Intuit's reopening this year, and now the art space is announcing a new name for a new chapter. President and CEO Deb Kerr shared the following message this week.
"It’s rare that a museum gets the opportunity to rebuild, reimagine and rebrand everything from the ground up—physical space, digital experience, even name and logo. For us, it has been a time of complete renovation and innovation while always nurturing the founding spirit of the 34-year-old organization until now known as Intuit: The Center for Outsider and Intuitive Art. On April 25, we will re-open our doors to the public with three times the space, a stunning new logo and our name downsized to just three defining words that reflect our growth into the Intuit Art Museum or IAM.
Like the art we share, Intuit is a place of wonder where unexpected and fortunate discoveries happen every day. My vision is that Intuit is recognized as the most accessible and welcoming museum space in Chicago—if not the entire country. If someone has never visited a museum before, I want Intuit to be their first museum experience. I’m excited to invite you to join us for a series of grand re-opening activities over April 24-27—which is the same weekend as EXPO Chicago, the city’s largest art fair. Mark your calendar, and stay tuned for more details."
