Located in the heart of the River North Gallery District for over two decades, Addington Gallery focuses on dynamic contemporary painting, both abstract and representational, with many of the gallery’s artists staking their claim somewhere in between categories. Process and materials play a large role with most of the artists represented, who work in a wide range of contemporary styles, subjects, and media. The gallery offers a full range of services, including installation, painting restoration and conservation, framing consultation, and corporate curating. Receptions are typically held on the 1st Friday of every other month: January, March, May, July, Sept, Nov. Note we are closed until January 23, 2025 ARC Gallery is an internationally recognized exhibition space that has been an integral part of the Chicago art scene since its inception in 1973. Founded during the women’s movement as an alternative to the mainstream gallery system, ARC is one of the longest running art spaces of its kind in the country. As a non-profit, woman artist-run cooperative, ARC continues its feminist tradition by providing exhibition opportunities for professional and emerging artists working in all media based on excellence of artwork, without discrimination toward ethnicity, race, gender, age, class, religious, sexual or political orientation. Bridgeport Art Center

Nestled in the heart of West Town and established in 2011, Chicago Truborn is a sanctuary for both emerging and established artists, specializing in street/graffiti/pop art. Unconventional and welcoming, this gallery has become synonymous with showcasing affordable art and creating an atmosphere where art collectors and novices alike can explore and indulge. Dubbed “Chicago’s Best Gallery”, Chicago Truborn further distinguishes itself through two site-specific murals accompanying every new exhibition. The rotating murals breathe life into the space, immersing viewers in a dynamic encounter with each visit. This distinctive approach not only transforms the space but also empowers artists to express their vision&nbsp;- transcending the constraints of traditional galleries and canvas works. Chicago Truborn

Dragonfly Gallery, established in March 2020 and located in East Garfield Park, is committed to fostering inspiration and providing essential resources and opportunities for artists and the community. We host monthly exhibitions featuring a diverse array of artists, from new and emerging to established, focusing on BIPOC artists. In addition, our gallery includes a curated retail space that showcases local artisans, jewelry makers, and vendors. Dragonfly Gallery offers workshops, seminars, and classes for artists and families to engage the community further.&nbsp; All exhibitions are available for online viewing and purchase, ensuring accessibility for all.&nbsp; Opening receptions are on the first Saturday of each exhibition. The Elmhurst Art Museum is an arts complex with three distinct focus areas. A balance of art, education, and architecture programming is central to our efforts to inspire and enrich our community and cultivate a creative space where art is for everyone. We hold public art events and educational hands-on activities related to rotating contemporary art exhibitions and the celebration of the McCormick house, a rare single-family home designed by Mies van der Rohe.&nbsp; The Elmhurst Art Museum is located in Elmhurst, 25 minutes from downtown Chicago by public transportation (Metra). Elmhurst Art Museum

Conceived with the vision to return Epiphany to a place for people to once again congregate, the shuttered historic Church of the Epiphany has been preserved and adapted into an iconic cultural hub ‘For the Good of Art, Entertainment and Events. Epiphany Center for the Arts

The Evanston Art Center (EAC), founded over 90 years ago in 1929, is an integral part of community life, providing access and experiences in the arts to people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. Through community-based events, classes and exhibitions, EAC helps expand its mission to provide accessible arts education and arts enrichment experiences to the community and the surrounding areas. The Evanston Art Center’s galleries exhibit contemporary artwork by emerging and established artists, and are free and open to the public seven days a week. Exhibition programming includes publications, artist talks, interviews with curators, opening receptions, In Focus lectures and docent led tours for groups (please call to schedule a tour) at no charge to the public. Evanston Art Center

The Gallery of Contemporary Mosaics (GoCM) exhibits internationally renowned masters, emerging and established contemporary mosaic artists. GoCM promotes artists employing exemplary conceptual and technical excellence through a multitude of approaches and materials. In the US, contemporary mosaics are relatively unrecognized as a fine art; GoCM provides a space for highly coveted artists to exhibit in our state of the art facility. GoCM is affiliated with The Chicago Mosaic School (CMS), the preeminent center for mosaic arts education in the Americas.
