We’re pleased to present the Museum’s Sandra Cisneros Award to the outstanding actress Angelica Aragón, a Mexican film, television and stage actress and singer known for her roles on both sides of the border. The Museum's Legacy Award will be presented to our amazing trustee Douglas Doetsch for his long-standing support of NMMA.

SANDRA CISNEROS AWARD HONOREE

Angelica Aragón is one of Mexico's most respected performers. Internationally acclaimed for her acting roles in more than one hundred and twenty motion pictures and twenty-five tv series. Actor, director, producer, she has worked extensively in theatrical productions in Mexico and the US, Europe, Central America and the Caribbean.

LEGACY AWARD HONOREE

Douglas A. Doetsch is a Partner with Mayer Brown LLP, where he serves as head of the firm’s Latin America/Caribbean practice and is a member of the firm's Banking & Finance practice. He has served on the National Museum of Mexican Art’s Board of Trustees for over 15 years.

The Gala de Arte is our biggest fundraiser of the year and is critical in generating funding that ensures our city continues to boast the most significant Mexican art museum in the U.S., the only AAM accredited museum dedicated to Mexican Art. All proceeds from the event will support the National Museum of Mexican Art’s mission.
