A Dance and Performance Art Experience: Unexpected Narratives

Event Date: Thursday, November 15, 2024
Doors Open: 6:30 PM
Performance Begins: 7:00 PM

Immerse yourself in Unexpected Narratives, a performance art experience blending movement, visual art, and storytelling. Featuring abstract, non-scripted vignettes by three dancers and costumes designed by artist Sandra Leonard, the event challenges traditional perceptions of sculpture and dance.

About the Artist - Sandra Leonard:

Sandra Leonard’s work focuses on creating living sculpture, using the human body to blur the lines between art and theater. Her costumes, often large and sculptural, impede movement in unexpected ways, influencing the choreography itself. Her collaborative approach with performers turns each wearer into a kinetic sculpture, bridging the worlds of visual art and performance.
