For this show at Firecat Projects, I am showing paintings, collages, and pottery. While some of these pieces relate across media, the pottery is a refuge for me to indulge in as an exercise in healing.

In my flat files, where my art has gone to die, there are few survivors. But the leftover screen-printed corpses are useful as partial images in collages. The scrambled images interact with new meanings as they blend from the fragments. The fragments are from prints with visual data some times political, sometimes scientific, and others textural and patterned.

My pottery practice is a very separate activity. It is derived from a place inside that finds comfort in the materiality of clay and glaze. The process is enriching; the object exists as evidence of this.
