Annual Benefit: Work in Progress

Thursday, Jun 6, 2019 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
2130-40 W. Fulton, Unit B. Chicago, IL 60612

On June 6, 2019 Chicago Artists Coalition (CAC) will host its annual benefit, WORK IN PROGRESS (WIP), honoring Chicago artist Hebru Brantley and design firm Gensler.

The event also celebrates the one-year anniversary of CAC moving to its new home in the Kinzie Industrial Corridor. The event’s co-chairs are Director of Marketing at CFI Partners, Chanel Coney, and Jessica and Timothy Canning.

As part of last year’s “construction” theme, guests were invited to dress in “creative construction” attire. While this year’s event is a celebration of CAC’s one-year anniversary in its new home, the theme is a riff on the one-year “paper” wedding anniversary. Guests will find playful uses of paper and paper-inspired details throughout the space. Guests are also encouraged to dress and accessorize with paper. A lookbook with inspirations will be available on CAC’s website.

WORK IN PROGRESS is CAC’s largest fundraiser of the year. All proceeds from the event directly support CAC’s mission to supports contemporary Chicago artists and curators by offering residency programs, exhibitions, professional development and resources that enable them to live, work and thrive in the city. The event also serves as an opportunity for CAC to honor those who have made a positive impact on the arts in Chicago as well as announce the recipients of its MAKER Grants (co-sponsored by OtherPeoplesPixels) and the Coney Family Fund Award.

WORK IN PROGRESS will take place on Thursday June 6, 6–10pm at CAC (2130 W. Fulton St).

The VIP reception is from 6-8pm, during which CAC will acknowledge its honorees and grant recipients.

Tickets for the event are $350 for VIP; $70 for The Party. Tickets are on sale now.
