We are thrilled to announce an upcoming artist talk featuring two exceptional queer artists, Lania Sproles and Juan Arango Palacios. Join us on Saturday, March 18, from 1 to 3 pm for a captivating discussion about their work and the exhibition Final Fantasia at FLXST Contemporary: B-Side. Light refreshments will be served. The artist's talk will be live-streamed.
During the artist talk, Sproles and Palacios will discuss their creative processes, inspirations, and the stories behind their works. Both artists bring a unique perspective to the exhibition, exploring themes of identity, culture, and the human experience through their respective mediums.
Juan Arango Palacios is a multidisciplinary artist whose work is rooted in exploring the complexities and beauty of the Latinx queer world. Their striking mixed media pieces capture the intricate textures and colors that that the viewer to reflect on their relationship to the "natural" world.
Lania Sproles is a Chicago-based interdisciplinary artist whose work draws inspiration from her own personal history and upbringing. Her intricate mixed-media pieces explore themes of Black girlhood, trauma, and resilience.
Ciera McKissick, the exhibition's curator, will moderate the artist talk, providing insight into the curatorial process and the ideas that informed the exhibition's development.
This artist talk promises to be a rich and enlightening experience for all attendees, whether you're a seasoned art collector or just starting to explore contemporary art. The event is free and open to the public.
We are honored to host these two extraordinary artists and look forward to hearing their insights and reflections on their work. We hope to see you there!
