Ben LaMar Gay and Pascal Niggenkemper Duo

Corbett vs. Dempsey is pleased to present Ben LaMar Gay and Pascal Niggenkemper as part of The Bridge, a Transatlantic Network for Jazz and Creative Music. 

Cornetist and composer Ben LaMar Gay is one of the best-known performers on the Chicago scene. Involved in wildly diverse projects including his marvelous 2021 International Anthem/Nonesuch LP Open Arms to Us, which featured a staggering array of collaborators, LaMar Gay has firmly established himself as an experimentally-minded musical figure and open-eared improvisor. Franco-German bassist Pascal Niggenkemper is similarly esteemed in improvised music circles, for good reason. A nimble player whose approach is also exploratory and interactively-minded, Niggenkemper is, together with LaMar Gay, Sam Pluta (electronics) and Sophie Agnel (piano), a member of the collective quartet PANG!, which has just released its debut record.
