Bob Nonnemacher | A Confluence of Shapes
Featured Guest Artist
On View July 20 — August 11
Opening Reception: Saturday, July 27, 6-9pm
Founding Member Artist and former Collective Artist, Bob Nonnemacher of St. Paul MN, returns to the Blue Moon with a comprehensive new SOLO EXHIBITION featuring his latest GEOMETRIC ABSTRACTION paintings and assemblages.
In his newest works Nonnemacher explores the convergence of shapes and has created a redefined and broader aesthetic from past works. This includes innovations in shape, color, and new painting methods. In this new collection, he introduces 8- & 12-sided shapes (cross, compass, and octagon) to allow for more intricate cut-and-assemble patterns compared to the 4-sided rectangles and squares he previously used. In earlier works, colors were blended visually using a random “splatter” technique. In his new pieces, he blends colors deliberately with a paintbrush, creating gradations that add depth and textures previously absent. Inspired by ombre effects, Nonnemacher incorporated color combinations along with gold, silver, iridescent black, and iridescent white creating a vibrant kinetic energy. Many of the pieces are extra large providing the space to expand the complexity of shape combinations, resulting in unusual and surprising compositions.
"Geometry is beautiful and I want to share how I see it. When people view my paintings I hope they will be moved by the aesthetics of a simpler form and be able to look at a simple shape and find great beauty.” --- Bob Nonnemacher
Exquisitely presented, custom framed, "A Confluence of Shapes" showcases Bob Nonnemacher's determined dedication to every single detail. The museum quality works are a pure delight to examine and explore wtih one's full curiosity.
