Art and the Poets
Saturday, March 19, 2 pm •
Join us for a in-person tour and interactive exploration of works on display in
Bob Thompson: This House Is Mine
at the University of Chicago’s Smart Museum of Art.
Facilitated by Lead Museum Educator Nicole Bond, this program takes a guided look at Bob Thompson’s portraits of poets Amiri Baraka and Allen Ginsberg. Then, guests will be invited to read selected poems and excerpts from both writers, creating an impromptu afternoon open mic.
FREE, but space is limited. Please register in advance. Poetry selections contain adult themes—suggested for mature audiences.
