Charlie Bluett & Jenny Nelson: Introductions

Anne Loucks Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of a new exhibition of paintings by Jenny Nelson and Charlie Bluett in our Winnetka gallery. The show is on view now through April 12th and includes 18 paintings by the artists. 

Jenny Nelson's colorful, abstract compositions are the result of decades of practice as an artist in her Woodstock, NY studio. Her process involves layering and editing gestural brushstrokes and fields of color against intentional open spaces, creating expressive, emotionally charged, yet balanced compositions.

Charlie Bluett's paintings are a reflection of the light, shapes and color he observes in everyday objects. He is fascinated by the process of painting, continually pushing his use of shape and texture. His changing surfaces, ethereal use of color, and subtle movement of forms reflect the beauty and fluidity of his Vermont studio surroundings.
