Hear selections from Joby Talbot and Gene Scheer’s critically acclaimed 2015 opera Everest, chronicling the infamous 1996 expedition up the massive mountain detailed in Jon Krakauer’s Into Thin Air. Singers will then perform selections from Rachmaninov’s gorgeous Russian gem Aleko. Join in the discussion as Staley Music Director Lidiya Yankovskaya leads a conversation around what brings these two eras of art together.
