In this body of work, Joanna Pinsky, www.joannapinsky.com, is exploring organic forms that create the illusion of volume in two-dimensional shaped paintings. Several works suggest forms in nature while others are completely abstract. Color and texture are paramount with layers of paint incised to reveal underlying colors. Pinsky has frequently exhibited work in solo and group shows in Chicago and has exhibited in NY City, Santa Fe, N.M, Germany and Japan.
