North Gallery
In the concluding episode of the rotating North Gallery 20th anniversary exhibitions, Corbett vs. Dempsey presents Diane Simpson.
The installation consists of a single work by sculptor Diane Simpson that was commissioned by the group Every House Has a Door for their recent performance Crystal Pantomime. An illuminated sculpture that was the central set piece for the performance, which was inspired by the artist and writer Mina Loy, in this gallery context it takes on a different set of connotations, its beautiful modern design and subtle glow perhaps a hopeful beacon or meditative offering, a light at the end of the proverbial tunnel.
