The Art Center Highland Park continues its Summer Blockbuster Community Event,Draw Together, for the third year and it promises to be the best one yet. Designed as a family-friendly community event, Draw Together features the largest chalk art drawing event on the Northshore and includes an open house for TAC’s art classes for all ages and skill levels with hands-on demonstrations and a host of special events.
Food, Music, Fun: This year the event will include treats from the Fat Shallot food truck, a DJ, Bach to Rock Music School, and live performances by Laura Doherty & The Heartbeats.
A Chicago favorite in the family music scene, Laura Doherty & The Heartbeats, acoustically rock your kid’s world with breezy folk-pop tunes from her multi-award-winning recordings, including her latest album "High Five", full of upbeat and heartfelt songs about friendship, family and childhood.
Added bonus: kids can meet Daisy from the PBS Daytime Emmy Award Winning program, Nature Cat, live and ‘in person’!
All funds generated by Draw Together will support the art education programs at TAC, a 63-year-old not-for-profit organization, with scholarships, supplies, outreach, and the over 300 classes they offer with over 2,400 enrollments a year.
The Art Center Highland Park, a not-for-profit organization, is the North Shore’s home for artistic discovery and creative exploration. Through innovative programs, exhibitions, and classes designed for all levels and ages, The Art Center provides a welcoming space for their diverse communities to experience and participate in the arts.
