Chicago Artists Coalition is pleased to announce soft structures, a solo exhibition by 2023-24 BOLT Resident ebere agwuncha.
soft structures is an installation of architectural points that are crafted alongside meditations of the lancet arch, a spear-like sacral form. The works selected create a passage ‘to and through’ shadows, obscure edges, woven fibers, repetition and interactive spiritual portals, pointing to the juxtaposed intimacy of the grande acute tipped sites.
ebere agwuncha (b.1997, Chicago) is a Nigerian American transdisciplinary artist whose practice seeks to reach the natural depths of memory that hands carry through contemporary craft practices. They dream alongside the archives of the black diaspora making architecture(s) for the world to embrace through touch, preservation, ritual, domesticity, and intimacy.
The opening reception will be on July 12 from 5-8pm. Additional programming to occur.
