In the closing hour of Rebecca Morris's exhibition #29, Corbett vs. Dempsey presents a special musical performance by Emilie Lesbros, Macie Stewart and Tim Daisy. Brought together by the "transatlantic network for creative music" known as The Bridge, with whom CvsD has frequently collaborated, these three improvisers will assemble for solos and duets. Lesbros, who sometimes appears under the pseudonym Miss Elie, is a French-born singer who works in many genres including freely improvised music; Stewart, who plays violin and keyboards in Ohmme and Marker, is one of Chicago's brightest new creative music stars; Daisy is a veteran improvised music drummer based in Chicago whose work in numerous ensembles and as a leader and soloist have been sparklingly documented on his own ambitious label, Relay Records. This concert marks the first meeting of these three players, another spark ignited by The Bridge. Join us in person at the gallery for a round robin afternoon session.
