Family Days at the Smart Museum are designed to celebrate the creative potential in all of us. With new projects every month, Family Days offer opportunities for kids and their caregivers to create together and connect with one another. Each program is unique, fun, and free, emphasizing invention, improvisation, and hands-on creativity.
This Saturday, build wild baubles, bells, stuffed shapes, and cool jewelry for your kicks. Turn your shoes into winged things, create silvery sensational sandals, and make your boots a bit more “boot”iful! This family day is inspired by Yayoi Kusama’s silver shoe sculpture on view in Monochrome Multitudes. All the projects are made to be temporarily tied on, so you can take them on or off on your own at home.
FREE, drop-in. Art-making supplies and other materials are provided. Family programs are best for kids 4–12, but all ages are welcomed! Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
