Join us on Sunday, June 30 from 2pm - 6pm for the opening reception of Grid Luck with remarks from the exhibition’s artist, Alberto Aguilar, and CCMA Curator, Justin Witte.
Come see new site-specific works, created through Aguilar’s innovative process of reimagining existing objects and spaces within the Cleve Carney Museum of Art.
With his fresh take on traditional art-making, Aguilar provides a new perspective on overlooked possibilities and explores the grid's role as both a generative and expansive tool, incorporating work from the College of DuPage Permanent Art Collection.
This reception coincides with the opening of “Olmec Trails” and the free “Olmec Family Fiesta” also taking place at the Lakeside Pavilion on June 30th form 2pm - 6 pm.
Show running June 29 - October 6, 2024.

In the upcoming exhibit "Grid Luck," Alberto Aguilar delves into the grid's role as a generative and expansive tool. Taking inspiration from the College of DuPage Permanent Art Collection, the exhibit reimagines the materials and spaces within the Cleve Carney Museum of Art, resulting in the creation of new site-specific works. Aguilar's innovative use of existing objects from institutional spaces as his material provides a novel take on traditional art making while providing fresh perspective on overlooked possibilities.
