Iria do Castelo presents her solo exhibition

Thursday, Nov 21, 2024 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM

During her residency at the John David Mooney Foundation, Iria do Castelo produced a body of work inspired by her first experiences in America and the nature of Lake Michigan.

For this exhibition, she unfolds a symbolic universe in the forms of a post-Anthropocene fable. In Arcana Natura the visual narrative is configured as a forest through which the visitor moves in a web of relations between the pieces. The exhibition space becomes a place of discovery and transformation, where the edges of two worlds, the real and the imaginary, mingle giving rise to new possibilities.
