Jim Rose: CODA

Victor Armendariz of Gallery Victor, Chicago, has mounted an exhibition of his final works. The show, fittingly titled CODA, opens October 6, 2023 and will be on display through November 8, 2023. 

Coda /ˈkōdə/ Derived from the from the Latin word cauda (meaning tail), coda is a passage at the end of a piece of music that brings the music to a close. Charles Burkhart, an American musicologist, poetically states that a coda is often created by "working an idea through to its structural conclusions" and that, after all this momentum is created, a coda is required to "look back" on the main body, allow listeners to "take it all in", and "create a sense of balance."
