John Muse and Brendamaris Rodríguez: giroscopio

"...and in this world, all things touch, all cats are black, all mirrors are broken."

Artists John Muse and Brendamaris Rodríguez's collaborative short film giroscopio, made during the pandemic lockdown, with Muse in Pennsylvania and Rodriguez in Puerto Rico, portrays a dizzying sonic and visual psychological space unable to comprehend its current reality. Bodily movement, both comic and tragic, is framed in a state of constant, unbalanced flux. Using the rhythmic motion of a gyroscope, the film reveals a world in tumult, always moving but going nowhere fast.
