Meiji Modern | Family Day: Paper Kite-Making

Make—then fly!—your own kites in celebration of the final weekend of Meiji Modern: Fifty Years of New Japan at the Smart Museum of Art. Get inspired by Meiji prints on view, decorate paper with stamps and designs, and then assemble a working kite with wooden sticks, string, and Yasutomo Nori paste.

Join in the family fun

FREE, drop-in. Art-making supplies and other materials are provided. Family programs are best for kids 4–12, but all ages are welcomed! Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
