South Asia Institute (SAI) cultivates the art and culture of&nbsp;South Asia and its diaspora through curated exhibitions, innovative programs and&nbsp;educational initiatives. SAI is located on Michigan Avenue on Chicago’s historic Motor&nbsp;Row, part of the Prairie District. Built in 1911 in the second empire style of architecture,&nbsp;the building that houses South Asia Institute is a registered national landmark.&nbsp;&nbsp;SAI collaborates locally and globally to engage diverse communities with enriching and creative experiences. We support artistic production by emerging and established&nbsp; artists, and foster cultural appreciation for the South Asian diaspora.&nbsp;As one of the only nonprofit cultural centers dedicated to the arts and culture of South&nbsp; Asia in North America, SAI curates art exhibitions, produces cultural and musical&nbsp; performances, screens independent films and facilitates lectures, seminars and&nbsp; workshops.
