Jamal Cyrus + Harold Mendez: On turning ground

PATRON is proud to present On turning ground, a two-person exhibition marking the gallery’s second presentation with Jamal Cyrus (b.1973, Houston, TX) and third with Harold Mendez (b.1977, Chicago, IL). The exhibition, combining new bodies of work in sculpture, drawing, textile, and sound, tracks the two artists’ own kindred interrogations into tracing cultural essences across boundaries, time, and language. Fluent in their attunement to cultural hybridity through cross-border and trans-Atlantic histories of migration and return, the artists’ works operate as vessels for communion with persistent, and recombinant past.
