Liza Jo Eilers (b. 1993 St. Paul, MN) lives and works in Chicago, IL. Eilers holds a MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in and a BA in Industrial Design from the University of Notre Dame. She uses painting, collage, sculpture and found objects, working through the double stake of popular culture’s representation of women, and its tendency to simultaneously resist and reinforce dominant ideals and values. She often humorously casts this discussion in terms of male dominated hobbies and spaces like sports fishing, hot rods, the man cave and the bar.
