Pax Africana: The Southern Question

Join Hlonipha Mokoena, PhD as she reflects on Pax Africana: The Southern Question exploring how Meleko Mokgosi’s large-scale paintings open up novel histories of southern Africa’s contested political ideas and traditions.

Mokoena is currently an Associate Professor at WISER (Wits Institute for Social and Economic Research) at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.

This program is co-presented by the African Studies Workshop and Smart Museum at the University of Chicago.
