Prime Time: TRADEMARK

The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago presents Prime Time: TRADEMARK™, a vibrant after-hours event featuring concerts by Vic Lloyd, HXLT, and DJ Pharris, with cameo performances by Chicago-based artists.Hosted and co-conceived with Virgil Abloh, this dynamic museum takeover brings together live music and dancing with interactive artist-led projects, food and drink, and special late night access to the Virgil Abloh: "Figures of Speech" exhibition and its accompanying pop-up store "Church & State." With a silent disco and hands-on design labs, visitors can experience a diverse array of art encounters that are inspired by the exhibition and activated by Chicago artists. Open to visitors 18 years and older,Prime Time: TRADEMARK™ takes place Thursday, August 22, from 7-11 pm at the MCA and is organized by the museum's department ofPerformance and Public Practice.

Co-hosted by Virgil Abloh, whose genre-blending practice connects visual artists, musicians, designers, and architects,Prime Time: TRADEMARK™ taps into the creative pulse of Chicago with immersive experiences across a range of media. In addition to performances by rapper/producers Vic Lloyd and HXLT, as well as Power 92.3FM's DJ Pharris, a highlight of the evening includes an activation designed by the MCA's Teen Creative Agency, a group of 25 creative youth who engage in contemporary art and ideas at the MCA every Saturday. Abloh is celebrated for captivating a large youth following and influencing young creatives to question, deconstruct, and rebuild their cultural surroundings.

Other hands-on experiences include a photo booth by Glitterguts and artist projects by Jacklynn Kelsey Works and Brendan Fernandes, whose project A Call and Response in the museum's Commons features dance-based prompts for visitors to perform alongside professional dancers.

Tickets to Prime Time: TRADEMARK™ will go on sale on Thursday, July 25 at 12 pm CST and are$60 in advance and $65 at the door. Tickets are available for purchase through the MCA Box Office (312.397.4010) or at mcachicago.org. Prime Time: TRADEMARK™ is for visitors 18 and older and IDs are required.
