Rebecca Crowell, New Cold Wax Paintings

During the 3rd Mid-Summer Art Walk in River North on Friday, July 12, the gallery will feature in its main space: Rebecca Crowell, Overlays: New Cold Wax Paintings. This will be Crowell's first solo show at Addington Gallery. 

We will also be featuring new work by Lisa Pressman, and we will be welcoming Alicia LaChance and Joanne Mattera to the gallery with an installation of new paintings by each. These pieces reveal highly personal, technically rigorous investigations of color, texture, and space. The forms might be different, but what these accomplished artists have in common is the pioneering urge to reach forward to achieve and share some kind of almost sublime, personally transformative visual experience...all this while standing firmly and knowledgeably on a deep, critical understanding of the history of painting.
