Throughout the course of art history, artists have used their talents to reflect and comment on the values and events of the day. In Scrapbooking the Collection, the romance, idealism, soft palettes, and fleeting brushstrokes of American Impressionism are paired with the vibrant colors, bold lines, street scenes, and workaday people captured by Social Realists, Regionalists, and other artists under the Modernist umbrella.
Together these sixteen artworks highlight a small percentage of Madron’s collection, encompassing a 60-year span of landscapes and portraiture that shaped the American art canon.
