In different ways, each of these four Chicago-based artists has a process of gathering images and materials --as if that media has been loosened from the world around us, and then deposited, settling within their studios and their works. In Sedimented, the artists' array of materials speaks to human relationships to the natural world, whether it be tenuous, inextricable or harmonious.
