Amy Sobin is a multidisciplinary artist based in the Northern Suburbs of Chicago, whose portfolio spans pencil drawings, mixed media, and vibrant abstract paintings. Born in sunny Texas in 1968, Amy has always been captivated by the world around her, translating her observations into art from a young age. This unwavering focus on the beauty she sees through her artist’s eye guided her through high school and into college, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Graphic Design from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Amy has exhibited and sold her work in Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco while also working in the film industry for the past 27 years. Her enduring ability to view the world with pure wonder is a cherished skill and joy that infuses all her creations.

The Amy Sobin Show will be exhibited in the Main Second Floor Gallery of the Art Center. This exhibition is partially funded by the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency, and the EAC’s general membership.
