Join us Friday, November 8th from 7-9 PM at Woman Made for an experimental Sip n Paint inspired by American Abstract Expressionist artist, Helen Frankenthaler. Through her invention of the soak-stain technique, Frankenthaler expanded the field of abstract painting and was a major inspiration for Color Field painting. Join artist and WMG staff member, Veronica Clements, as you explore soak-stain painting techniques, the simplification of shapes, and the embodiment of ideas and emotions through color on a range of large canvases.
This workshop is open to all, no art experience required. Each participant will get to take home their artwork.
This workshop will be of special interest to anyone interested in learning and experimenting with: abstract painting, experimental art, meanings and histories of color, material experimentation.
