Investigate different relationships depicted in two galleries next door to each other. Delve into Cheryl Pope’s Variations on a Love Theme, an exhibition at Monique Meloche Gallery that accentuates personal narratives through her unique textile paintings. In large-scale, beautifully composed works, the artist explores the complex, quiet, emotional shifts between connection and loss in romantic relationships. We’ll talk about Pope’s depictions of male and female relationships in interior spaces as well as her portrayals of nurturing mothers in beach scenes.
