Superfood Friends

The Art Center is very proud to announce that Prescott Ellison and Superfood Friends Mascot, Andy Apple, will visit The Art Center Highland Park on March 11, 1-3pm,  to present the Superfood Friends art exhibit, featuring original drawings for the award-winning Superfood Friends characters, a collection of the Superfood Friends children’s books, a display of the Superfood Friend Plush Toys, and more.

Ellison created the Superfood Friends, a team of super-powered fruit and vegetable characters, to engage, inspire and educate children about nutrition, fitness, and environmental awareness. The curriculum is currently taught in schools in Las Vegas. In addition to receiving the Barack Obama Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, Ellison received the 2017 Childhood Obesity Prevention Award, secured an endorsement from the Nevada Department of Agriculture, and was given the 2016 Field to Fork Award.

The event will include an open house for the Arts Education programs at The Art Center which will feature workshops, demonstrations, and activities for children, families, and adults.
