Jackson Junge Gallery is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated return of its renowned TEN by TEN exhibition for the second consecutive year. This open-submission extravaganza proudly features over 300 talented artists from the heart of Chicago, with an impressive display of more than 400 captivating works of art. Commencing on November 3, 2023, and running until January 7, 2024, this exceptional showcase is open to the public, with no admission fee required.
The TEN by TEN exhibition is a celebration of artistic ingenuity, challenging creators to express their unique vision within a confined 10″ x 10″ frame. Embracing this creative constraint, artists were encouraged to delve into their individual interests and styles, resulting in a breathtaking array of artwork reflecting diverse perspectives and mediums. The exhibition features an eclectic mix of paintings, stained glass, ceramics, photography, woodwork, and 3D-mixed media, captivating the senses and stirring the soul.
Among the standout exhibits is Kate Tully’s “Hotdog and Chips,” a vibrant mixed media sculpture encapsulating the essence of Chicago’s iconic culinary experience. Sydney Swisher’s evocative mixed media painting, “A Host To Your Feelings,” gracefully evokes wistful winter nights, while Tai Taeoalii’s poignant piece, “When We Lose Our Wings,” offers a profound reflection on the emotional journey of losing inspiration. Nikole Cooney’s intricately crafted sculpture, “A Whisper in the Wind,” masterfully captures the delicate balance of life in the forest, while Cynthia J. Lee’s mesmerizing creation, “Stories the Land Tells,” transports viewers into the captivating world of Montana’s geological history.
Furthermore, James Mesple’s profound painting, “Oak,” serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of environmental stewardship and the potential for positive change that small actions can bring. Czr Prz’s vibrant piece, “Dreamsicle,” offers a captivating exploration of the transitional state between consciousness and unconsciousness, guiding viewers on a mesmerizing journey through bold shapes and colors.
Notably, the exhibition also offers a sneak peek into the upcoming 2024 solo shows of esteemed artists including Laura Lee Junge, Anastasia Mak, Tai Taeoalii, Ellie Vergura, and Bumpy Wilson. These talented artists have contributed new and captivating pieces to the TEN by TEN exhibition, setting the stage for their anticipated solo showcases next year.
Curated by the visionary team led by Gallery Director Kaitlyn Miller, along with the expertise of Gallery Owner Chris Jackson and the invaluable contributions of Gallery Assistants Kristen Arcus, Marisa Taravella, and Madeline Kirmse, TEN by TEN promises an immersive and unforgettable experience for art enthusiasts of all kinds.
