The Recycled Art Sale Benefit

Thursday, Oct 14 – 23, 2021

Highland Park, IL 60035

For the 33rd year in a row The Art Center Highland Park has committed to sustainability by recycling artworks throughout the North Shore in the charming style of an upscale Parisian flea market for the community to enjoy. This year the Recycled Art Sale and Benefit will run from October 14th to 23rd; Monday through Saturday, 10am-4pm, and Sunday 12-4pm.

Imagine an upscale Parisian flea market buzzling with art pieces and vintage treasures for the lucky discoverers to keep and bring home! This is what will be happening under a large tent in the front lawn of The Art Center Highland Park, from October 14th to 23rd, 2021, Monday through Saturday, 10am-4pm, and Sunday, 12-4pm. The variety of items is vast and high quality, including paintings, prints, ceramics, decorative objects, vintage posters, silver, antiques, sculpture, art glass, jewelry, and more.

“In place of ending up in a garage or basement, thousands of beautiful art pieces that have been donated to The Art Center by private collectors, galleries, estates, corporate art collections and institutions throughout the year, will find new owners and homes,” says James M Lynch, TAC’s Executive Director. “We collect and store unwanted art donations throughout the year and then we invite the community to hunt for treasures, which we price fairly, with value in mind, and in the hopes of clearing our stock out entirely.”

It all starts with a ticketed VIP event on Thursday, the 14th. “We really want to make this an event about the community where people can have fun browsing through items, fall in love with art pieces, buy at amazing prices; all while enjoying music, feasting on food truck cuisine, sipping innovative cocktails, and chatting about rare art finds!” says TAC’s Director of Events Jackie Chilow. “After the end of the 10-day event we will share the quality remainders with charities like Community Partners for Affordable Housing, Designs for Dignity, and Chicago Furniture Bank; each of them will be donated a number of art pieces of their choice that will mostly help low income community members and families moving into supportive housing turn apartments into homes.”

The Recycled Art Sale Benefit includes an exclusive preview for sponsors and ticket holders on Thursday, October 14 at 5 pm, giving buyers access to pre-event purchases, followed by general admission at 6-9 pm.Preview tickets are $175, general admission tickets are $75, and they will all be available for purchase on TAC’s website at www.theartcenterhp.com from September 1, 2021. All the proceeds from this event help fund TAC’s mission and programming to ensure all members of the community have access to the arts.

Art donations can be dropped off Monday through Friday, from 10am to 4pm and there is a limited availability to pick up larger items. Sponsorships are available starting at $250 and can be arranged by phone, 847-432-1888, or email, info@theartcenterhp.org
