When David Opdyke wanted to address climate change in his work, he found the perfect medium in vintage, hand-tinted postcards. Using their idyllic views of American landscapes as a canvas, Opdyke added apocalyptic painted imagery, from out of control fires to menacing beasts and written messages of doom. Five hundred of these miniature melodramas, organized into a crumbling mosaic, form his critically acclaimed artwork, This Land.
