DOCUMENT is pleased to present Victoria Fu’s second exhibition at the gallery.

Comprised of a large scale, double-sided printed curtain hanging in the gallery space, an animated neon work and a video projection, the works in the exhibition create colorfully textured installations that explore the expanded nature of mediated vision in a world where human experience is increasingly digitized.

VICTORIA FU (born 1978, Santa Monica, CA), lives and works in San Diego, CA. Fu a visual artist who received her MFA from CalArts, MA in Art History/Museum Studies from University of Southern California, and BA from Stanford University. Her practice revolves around stock footage and digital image banks, pulling quotidian pictures to appropriate them for projections on multi-layered surfaces. Her collages of digital media are abstract fantasies that emphasize form over representation. Fu’s works negate the manipulative power of these mundane images, injecting them with alluring imagination that challenges their function.
