Join us for an interactive guided tour of galleries in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood. Meet at Rhona Hoffman Gallery to delve into Brooklyn artist Derrick Adams’ colorful, mixed media paintings and functional sculptures referencing the influence of early educational television programs. At Western Exhibitions, we’ll discuss Chicago artist Richard Hull’s large, biomorphic paintings, which shift between abstraction and figuration. On the same floor, we’ll see Brooklyn artist Meg Lipke’s first Chicago show at Document Gallery, featuring mixed media works that skirt the boundaries of painting and sculpture. We’ll conclude at Andrew Rafacz Gallery for their two-person exhibition of work by Chicago artist Cody Hudson and San Francisco artist Richard Colman, both of whom use bold color and hard-edged shapes in their graphic paintings.
