Artists Talk at the Gallery

Doug Haight takes a break from his street photography work and takes us to the great deserts of southeastern Morocco.  In these dramatic Saharan landscapes he plays with scale, light and color to show us the beauty of the desert as pure form and pattern.  You will be lost in these images of grandeur and the stillness of ‘Wandering the Sahara.’

Verna Todd, in contrast, takes an up close look at tree bark primarily on the one square block where she lives.  Using a macro lens, she reveals the colors and patterns that escape the busy everyday eye.  Her work discovers ‘A World in the Bark of a Tree,’ and finds grace and elegance in the commonplace, the ancient, and even the bizarre.  She dares you to see who your neighbors really are.
