Woman Made Gallery is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Its mission is to cultivate, promote and support the work of women and non-binary artists through exhibitions, membership, and community dialogue programs. WMG is a space for women and non-binary artists, including trans women and femme/ feminine-identifying genderqueer. We welcome artists from our local community, regionally based, and from around the world.Since its inception in 1992 WMG has shown the artistic work of over 9,500 women and non-binary artists in 450+ exhibitions. WMG hosts up to nine exhibitions (majority open call, juried group exhibitions) per year and boasts a membership base of over 350 artists annually. Each entry explores the time-honored tradition of portraiture in artmaking in a unique way, often finding universal&nbsp;narratives and concerns within intimate and personal imagery.• Hold Still: Portraits from the Permanent Collection&nbsp;- Portraiture, like “still life” or “landscape” has been a pillar of art genres since time immemorial. We combed through the permanent collection to assemble an exhibition of portraits from Japanese actor prints to Andy Warhol Polaroids. From the gritty to the idealized, there are images of individuals, groups, the self and even animals. • Homage to Humanity: Portrait Prints by Sidney Chafetz&nbsp;- Jewish-American artist Sidney Chafetz (1922-2013) devoted his life to education and the arts. An avid reader, Chafetz employed his talents as a printmaker to depict his social and literary heroes. Save the date for our next exhibition opening:&nbsp;Friday, January 10 from 5-8pm.﻿ DOCUMENT is a contemporary art gallery located in Chicago and Lisbon with a focus on image-based practices, sculpture, and installation art. Since its inception in Chicago in 2012, the gallery has organized over 100 exhibitions. In 2017, DOCUMENT relocated to West Town and has since anchored its program as a conversation between emerging voices and established figures. The gallery has developed a reputation for championing artists and exhibiting challenging works across disciplines. In 2022, the gallery opened a second location in Lisbon, Portugal. Operating conjointly as a professional printmaking studio, DOCUMENT facilitates the production of works by artists from the region and beyond, making a wide range of printing techniques available for gallery artists to realize their works. Sculpture Milwaukee produces an annual exhibition of contemporary sculpture, sited throughout Milwaukee’s downtown and the neighborhoods adjacent. Each year, established artist-curators are invited to serve as guest curators of the exhibition with Ugo Rondinone holding the post in 2022–2023.The exhibition can be viewed year-round at no cost, with works sited publicly in accessible locations. The Tarble Arts Center is the teaching museum on the campus of Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL. OS Projects is a contemporary art gallery in downtown Racine featuring visual artists in solo and small group exhibits. Components of THE COLLECTION include 22 permanent commissions and a rotating exhibition series located throughout the common area of the shopping center. The public art program has invested in works by Daniel Arsham, Derrick Adams, Carlos Rolón Dzine, Jen Stark, Matthew Hoffman and many more. THE COLLECTION’s rotating exhibitions feature work by a variety of artists displayed in glass cases located throughout Level Two of the shopping center. The Poetry Foundation’s gallery is a space where visitors are invited to experience the connections between poetry and visual arts. The gallery hosts work by contemporary artists, as well as considering and honoring the legacies of those past. Recent artists include Kara Walker, Alex Katz, Diana Solís, Bob Faust, and Jun Fujita.The gallery is FREE and open to the public during the opening hours of the Poetry Foundation.All groups of more than 10 people must register before visiting the Poetry Foundation.Masks are optional but encouraged, and are available at check-in for those who would like to wear one.
