Jed Fielding: In-Person Lecture and Book Signing at the Gallery

On Sunday, October 20th at 4 p.m., Perspective Gallery hosts remarkable photographer Jed Fielding in discussion about his current work. Chicago-based Fielding studied with Aaron Siskind and Harry Callahan at the Rhode Island School of Design, where he received his BFA, continuing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago for his MFA in 1980. Since then, Fielding’s photographic explorations have taken him to Peru, Greece, Egypt, Spain, France, Mexico, Portugal, and throughout the United States. He has been photographing in Italy for more than forty-five years. 

Fielding’s photographs have been widely collected and exhibited, and are represented in private and public collections, including The Museum of Modern Art, New York; Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; the Art Institute of Chicago; Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego; International Center of Photography, New York and more. Included among his many published monographs are: “City of Secrets: Photographs of Naples,” “Look at me: Photographs from Mexico City,” and “Encounter,” which Fielding will be signing after his presentation.
